This blog is dedicated to my dearest Krishna...mostly poetry, sometimes through the words of a Gopi, and sometimes, just my own musings...

An Ordinary Offering to the Most Extraordinary

O Lord!
Words are wonders when they praise You,
Tunes are tempting when they sing You,
Thoughts are beautiful when they talk of You,
My mind is maddened-thinking of You!

The bamboo was just mere wood,
Before You blowing a sweet tune invitingly stood;
The peacock feather might have been just another-
Had it not been shed lovingly for its Master!

The rock was too ordinary,
Since Your feet it touched, it's now exemplary;
The plate of food might not have been so divinely sumptous,
Had You not tasted it and found it delecious!

O Lord! Cast upon this slave one glance,
She will the glory of Your presence perchance!
Grant me but one loving smile;
And, once again, my lovelorn senses deride!

  1. This poem was so sweet. I could visualize everything. It was really very very sweet and loving. I really love the message you put across - that everything is beautiful only when Krishna is involved with it!

    Hey Lord
    I am not as greedy as ILWK :)

    If itz too much to grant one loving smile...
    Fine, Grant one "little" frown on me...
    All I ask is, just cast yours on mine!

    no, no...
    i'll rather die than see a frown on His beautiful face.
    i am in love wih HIS beautiful smile, but i know He can't be that all the time, it'd be fake.
    but, i can even stand His silence, i just cannot do with His frown.
    You dunno, it's really happened with me. i have seen anger and disappointment on my PSP's face. i had done something, knowing it was wrong, but in a maddened, as if drunken state, thinking it wouldn't matter, He won't take me wrong. i never meant any wrong motive, my motive was only love fr Him.
    But, that face of His after that! He looked like Narasimhar!! Only worse, for His glance was burning me alive. it was directed my way!
    His very lotus eyes that i sing the praises of, were glowing at me like fireballs. His moustache, for the very first time, was fearful. i was not scared of what He would do, it's always His will, as i am surrendered in complete to Him, but i was totally scared that i had lost my Lord.
    i am not lying when i say ths, but when He failed to see my innocence in that act, i might have died inside the temple, that very moment itself.
    i went, and stood in front of Ranganayaki Thaayar. You can imagine my state, my heart was ready to burst, then there is no question about my eyes.
    But, what happened after that was....
    He called me inside, through a devotee (the door had been locked after the incident)
    And, then, i saw His most beautiful smile!!!
    So beautiful, i cried all over again, tis time in relief and joy. He had forgiven me, and oh!!
    And when i came out, it was like a delirious dream, someone thrusted in my hands the garland of Thaayar.
    .......
    sorry about this whole big story.
    But, His frown??
    Never, never...
